And I recognize that it's still not perfect (especially with context missing). But a user occasionally seeing "Save" but the wrong save - cost saving vs write to a db - in Arabic is still better than in a language they don't understand at all.

Given how easy it is to do i18n with AI, I'm suprised there's not more tooling around it. Or better yet, why isn't it baked into every framework by default (next.js or vite for example)?.

This also works both ways, there's nothing stopping you from making a in your project today. Any decent LLM will do it, and you can even script it and toss it in the CI/CD pipeline. Don't ignore 10M developers.

And the language barrier is evaporating - I recently talked to a Chinese open source founder (BillionMail - - and he specifically mentioned the unlock coming from AI translation - "AI has completely solved the language barrier for Chinese programmers".

And they've already built a lot:. Milvus, TiDB, Apache RocketMQ, Ant Design. All very successful projects out of China.

This isn't some "China is taking over" post. They've got a ton of great developers (>10M on Github), they're starting to look outward more for market share, and it's time that we all started paying attention to what they're building.

It's not just in AI, China is crushing it across the board in open source. I've been scraping the top 10k most active repos each day, and around 10-15% have chinese README's.

Every so often you see a Github project that doesn't just solve a problem, but demonstrates just how insanely big that problem actually was

What started as an open source experiment to push models to their limits became something unexpected. 2.7M developers. Inbound from Fortune 100 companies. A $32M bet on the future of coding. The story behind it all, and why our long-term bet is on open-source:

/newtask in Cline is something I've really become pretty dependent on. Even for a bunch of random and somewhat unrelated changes, it really ties the room/codebase together. Basically, it feels like having your AI pair programmer in the office vs working remote. -.

"am-i-vibing " - Detect if a process is being run by a coding agent, allows you to potentially give more feedback to the agent (LLM docs ref) - Alternatively, could allow for some interesting agentic shenanigans -

I mostly gave up and just slapped a Roku on my Samsung TV so I'd never have to use their software ever again, but this would have been a nice option for Jellyfin -

- Vibetunnel - Herd all your CLI AI Agents and check on their progress, all from the browser. I'd probably just stick with tmux, but I get that this is an easier route for most people.
