5 January 2021 Update on flooding Southern of Namibia
By 04h00 this morning Naute Dam was at 117.8 % full capacity with an inflow rate of 2300 m3/s. Release rate is currently at 2000 and will be increased to 2270 m^3/s to accommodate the incoming flood.

Given the seriousness of the flooding, warnings to stakeholders (communities, farmers, lodges & Department of Water Affairs RSA) of possible damage to properties have been issued by NamWater.
