I’m sad some people found it necessary to criticise a tweet about 1 of the beautiful poems written by my pupils yesterday but I guess it goes with the job. Apparently I’m a bad teacher for being anti-Tory (I don’t tell the children that) & I shouldn’t mention climate change. 1/4
I should be disciplined for tweeting on my personal Twitter about politics & I’m bragging about my teaching when all I’m doing is filling the children’s heads with woke nonsense. I just couldn’t be bothered to argue & deal with all that negativity when I just wanted to share 2/4
how inspirational the children are. I could tell you how we had to do the spelling test in lees than 10 minutes because the children ALL wanted to read their poems out loud to the class & I spent too long letting them or about the boy who wrote his poem in the shape of a wave 3/4
& when I enthused about what a fabulous idea it was he stared at me gobsmacked saying ‘I only wrote it like that because I can’t write straight on plain paper so I turned it into the sea’
I mean, to me it’s all awesome but to some it’s just another thing to get angry about

Thank you so much for sharing. I wish I’d been able to save it as it was extraordinarily beautiful. You are doing an amazing job and please find a way to ignore the haters. There’s a lot of them about.

I didn't see the poem and have only just stumbled upon you in the Twittersphere. However, having had a quick look at your timeline you get a big thumbs up from this retired education professional and school governor. Keep on being wonderful you, the children are the winners!

I thought it was a brilliant poem and my feeling on reading it was what a good job you'd done encouraging this young boy to participate. He shows a lot of promise in my opinion.

As a now retired, teacher, Educational Adviser, I just want to say, thank you for inspiring young minds.
Without inspiration, school can be mundane.
You are lifting kids to the arcane and making them proud!
Splendid, special, keep striving for excellence
We need more like you!

I'm a Cub Scout leader, I've had children as young as 8 come out with their own political views completely unprompted. I have one Cub who's 10 & really passionate about the environment. Sad that people underestimate children's intelligence & ability for independent thought.
