Can I point out that I’m not tweeting in self interest, I do not work for the NHS and I don’t pay to park at work but I think it’s wrong to charge them to park in a hospital car park. I would extend this to university staff and council staff too.

Name one profession other than the NHS that charges its employees to park in the car park at work. Bloody ridiculous. Get rid of that alone and it would equate to a pay rise of around 3-5% for an average nurse

When i worked for uea east anglian, as a cleaner, we had too pay car parking charges, not as important as NHS workers i know

Obvious to anyone who read your bio.There are other things that can be done but the lead time is a couple of years,think teaching hospitals and accomodation.

Our local hospital is in a town like most and when they didn’t charge people would park there to visit the local shopping centre, this created a problem for patients & visitors. If the staff park there with no charge the same problem will arise. Ours has dealt with the problem

We don't have a big enough carpark so I have to pay for my parking at work, unless I'm lucky enough to book a parking space

And civil servants. Their pay is ludicrously low and city centre car parking charges are ridiculously high!
