I didnβt buy flowers and place them against a royal building but I bought 2 bunches of roses ππΉ
One for my 84 year old mum and the other for her 86 year old sister (my aunt) who lives next door to mum. Rightly or wrongly I thought the still living would appreciate them more

That's beautiful - wonderful idea. I get rather annoyed by all the flowers; it's not only a waste of money but also bad for the environment. I'm sure the Queen would have preferred a donation to charity or, as you're doing, giving a present to the living x

I always gave flowers to my elderly mum who had dementia. Fresh ones brought weekly as they were one of the few things she could actually enjoy.

Mum told me her mother (who died of cancer in 1946) said "Don't put flowers on my grave, I won't be able to see them. Put them on the kitchen table where everybody can enjoy them."

I didnβt buy flowers and place them against a royal building, but I have added a few tubs of Roses, jars of Carnation coffee creamer, Lotus biscuits, bottles of sunflower oil and a helpful amount of Lil-lets to be donated to the local food bank from my next supermarket order ππ»

Love that you did that. I agree itβs much nicer to give flowers to the living; the gesture of giving flowers is uplifting for the giver & receiver π₯°π

Absolutely rightly. The Royal household staff arenβt going to appreciate having to shift all those flowers in varying stages of decay. Your Mum and Aunt will appreciate the thought behind them.
