Godzilla X Kong The New Empire was pretty good until the third act. Its such an immersive Kong story but then out of nowhere that guy from fortnite shows up and is just there for the rest of the movie????. What a way to ruin the lore, consistency and immersion.

i wanna love this movie so bad because it looks absolutely stunning but then it just has some of the most baffling creative decisions in the franchise.

After reading replies, Im starting to agree that making Jor-El the evil guy without showing a good part of Krypton was not the best creative choice. Maybe the message Lex found should have been a 2nd video from Zod, but that might have been out of scope for the story of the movie.

People are saying they're too thematically different but thats what makes them being in the same universe better. Imagine seeing Reeves' Riddler in the fucking legion of doom.

I'd also like to add that I am not defending against the criticism that it strays too far from the source material. Thats a completely valid complaint, I'm just defending the concept when it comes to the allegory.

If the film had the hate against superman be completely unfounded with no basis in reality could make the kid feel like Superman's message doesn't defend him because his country of origin IS in fact flawed.

So going back to the OP's example of the immigrant kid. I don't see how it shatters that part of himself. I think he'd sooner think "wow, Superman also has to deal with the same hate I do and still comes out on top!".
