Be that as it may, the position that “the approach cannot be justified” is not the same as the very extreme claim that it constitutes genocide

Not at all. There is a cl difference btw not justifying the military approach on the one hand and labelling it as a genocide on the other. The unwillingness of many academics to differentiate here (and rather stick to populist assumptions in relation to an “elite”) is shocking.

What media orgs are doing a decent job of covering the conflict? I follow DW, ZDF, Zeit, SZ, ARD and they are mostly uncritical of govt policy. Thx
