It’s a classic trope - the underdog gets the girl. But because this is a TV show we got to see what happens before the movie would start. We saw how she got together with someone thinking it would work out and thinking she loved him but realized she wasn’t true to her heart.

TV shows are different than movies in the way they build character arcs and storylines. In a regular HM movie E would’ve already been together with L as the fancy rich guy and with Nathan being the single dad it would’ve been obvious who she’d finally end up with.

In movies we never see that part. We’re usually thrown into the storyline where that first part already happened. We only see how she breaks up with the guy because she realizes she doesn’t truly love him. How is it that people love it in movies but a TV show can’t do the same?

I admit I would’ve wanted certain characters to end up together a little sooner but now it makes sense why it needed time. She just wasn’t ready for it yet. She first had to work through her fear and overcome it. But now her heart is finally ready to be with her lifetime love!

Most of the time at least one of the characters that fall in love in the movies is either widowed or divorced and many times also a single parent. Again - that usually already happened when the movie starts. That backstory is already set.

With WCTH we got to see the backstory play out on screen. We watched E fall in love for the first time, marrying her FIRST big love. We also watched her become a widow and a single mom when Jack died.

That’s why S11 marks a new era. A new beginning! She finally dealt with her trauma and she realized she’s ready for her next great love! 💗💗💗
