Dye sublimation has completely changed the way I do eyes on suits.Start on the iPad making a file (I use procreate) then print on my dye sub printer (Sawgrass sg500) and heat press onto vinyl mesh.Results are crisp, permanent and waterproof.Waiting on more of this mesh to arrive.
Vision is fantastic as the other side is black.Making it very easy to see through.This has been a great replacement for the regular buckram I had been using for years. To get consistent results you need a heat press you can control the pressure on while the ink transfers to vinyl

Love the results, definitely something I'd love to upgrade to in the future to save time, I hand paint my eyes now.
Do you have any pics of the vision through the mesh? :)
@CritterWorkshop
Not easy to take pics or video of since the camera will want to focus on the mesh not the see through part. Pretty much the same vision as the buckram I used on your eyes for example.
@Latinvixen
We use this method at my job for metal prints. Do you use a reduced ink droplet size for this to make room for color bleed or is it a full density print? Our paper photos look super faded until they’re sublimated onto sheets of metal.
@Latinvixen
I was just collecting information on dye sublimation! It’s up high on my list. Just gotta find a vinyl material that looks good in small scale.
@DOEXOED
You won't find smaller than this without getting vinyl you can barely see out of.This is a good mix of good vision and still absorbs the color correctly.For example the dense buckram you can barely see the holes but that's also a cotton base material which won't work with dye sub
@Latinvixen
You can print to sawgrass printer through iPad? Does that mess with any of the print settings? I’ve only printed through my computer’s sawgrass print manager before.
