Being mad about a furry event requiring to be vaccinated makes me wonder how they plan on traveling most places...sorry to tell ya, vaccines are prob going to be required a whole lot more around large gatherings period.
I personally donโt want to subject being around people who didnโt take the vaccine based on some conspiracy theory. I vaccinated to keep others and myself healthy. Get vaccinated.
@Latinvixen
I understand being pissed off by it only in one case - if the vaccine is not available to you and won't be available any time soon. Sadly, even the developed European countries still struggle with making it available for anyone under 60.
@OmniSable
This has nothing to do with who canโt get it yet. This is Americans refusing to get it based on fake Facebook information. Only talking about whatโs going on with an event in the US.
@Latinvixen
They act like this a is a new thing as well, especially when travelling?? If you travel to any east asian country you HAVE to get vaccinated against multiple things before you're allowed to travel.
@Latinvixen
To me it just shows what people should I not be around. If they can't get bothered to get vaccinated for covid, if they can't get bothered to wear a facemask, because they believe some nutty conspiracy videos, I want nothing to do with them. As an extension to this...
@Latinvixen
This. Masking and vaccination requirements are simply going to be reality for some time. Even after Iโm fully vaccinated Iโll feel a lot safer attending a venue with vaccination requirements than going to an event that doesnโt mandate them.
@happimonsuta
None of these were reasons people were using (trust me if people were using sensible reasons I wouldnโt of said anything). Mostly people being anti vaxx because they think the government is trying to control them.
@Latinvixen
Agreed.
It's not really a new idea to require vaccines to travel. I am fairly certain I had to get a few as a kid so we could travel internationally. (Even if they weren't required, they were highly suggested so we did.)
@Latinvixen
A localish con will be requiring either vaccinated or same day negative test. They're going to give it the yay or nay prior to the event, but reading the COVID procedure they're covering their bases.
@Latinvixen
@Bobby_Corwin
We get vaccinated to protect ourselves and others. It only makes sense that events are limited to those who have made themselves safe until things truly return to normal
@Latinvixen
I feel like the only valid exceptions to the rule would be people who physically cannot get a vax - tho I can see why it may be argued that those people should not be there at a con. Lots of stuff to discuss.
