This is a disaster
Last night my brilliant friend with 20 years of expertise in Neuroscience including a decade at NIDA was fired because she was recently promoted for her outstanding performance and it triggered the probation period. This is not making NIH more efficient, this is not making us

I am really sorry for the ~4000 staff who were fired at NIH this morning. This is a major unjustified hit to a premier research institution that weakens science in the US. My heart is breaking for you.
My heart is breaking for the ~4000 staff that were fired at NIH this morning and the ones in intramural research awaiting emails telling them if they too are being fired. This includes anyone probationary:Research Fellows, Staff Scientists, GS employees, Tenure-tracks

Wassup y’all, my first manuscript from the @Aoto_Lab is out! Despite being discovered over 30 years ago, α-Nrxn influence on synapses remain enigmatic. Here, we investigate how different mutations in Nrx3α affects synaptic properties. Check out this study—

Why are some neurons more selective than others? We report now in @Nature how calcium permeable-AMPA receptors in PV neurons make them less selective to sensory features https://t.co/Y7sXbtE8I3 Long live the geniuses behind this🧠🔍 https://t.co/87BqmXxYje

Did you know that expectation of how a food should taste influences what you think it tastes like? Our expectations, drawn from previous experiences, are very important in enhancing or diminishing how we perceive the foods and beverages we eat and drink. https://t.co/VI42W4vGsp
