1. tara has appeared in the opening scenes for both scream 5 and scream 6, if her her death was in the opening for scream 7 then it would be a callback to scream 5 AND it would mirror scream 3’s opening where cotton died (a character who has appeared throughout the franchise)

2. going off of what i mentioned before, tara’s death in the opening would continue the old Scream trend of having an A list celebrity die in the opening. Scream (1996) had Drew Barrymore, Scream 2 had Jada Pinkett, Scream 6 had Samara Weaving, and now Jenna Ortega in Scream 7

3. if they end the franchise with scream 7, tara’a death in the opening would set an extremely dark tone for the final film.

4. a very good chunk of sam’s character arc revolves around protecting tara. killing tara off would open up so many doors for sam’s character development

5 (pt 1). let’s be real, Jenna Ortega is EXTREMELY busy nowadays. she’s filming beetlejuice 2, she has wednesday season 2 coming up, and she’s also going to be in an A24 film with Paul Rudd. her demand has skyrocketed ever since we were introduce to tara in scream 5

5 (pt 2). because of this, she definitely may not have the same time to devote to scream 7 as she did scream 5/6. because of this, it makes so much sense for her character to be killed off in this film so that she has time for her other projects

6. tara’s death would be absolutely GUT wrenching. i can already tell jenna ortega would deliver a phenomenal final performance as tara to properly send off her character. this would generate praise for the movie’s acting, and it would be enjoyable to watch

7. it would counter the criticism that the scream franchise “doesn’t kill off their main characters”

all in all there’s just too many factors that point towards her kicking the bucket so i think it’s time we start praying for her safety 😭😭😭😭
