Very happy that our session on chemicals and biodiversity @WorldBioForum raised decent interest among ecology and biodiversity experts. We hopefully were able to "convert" everyone who stepped in π exchanges with audience at panel discussion were insightful! Thanks to everyone!

Last night had a pleasure to hang out with 'real', hardcore ecologists and evolutionary biologists π @WorldBioForum Thoroughly enjoyed the conversations, though must admit that some technicalities e.g. regarding genomic assembly for cryptic species were just beyond my grasp π

Excited about the upcoming start of the large mesocosm experiment on-site @EawagResearch to explore combined effects of heat waves and chemicals. 60-bucket strong setup by @marks_hermann and team, tirelessly working each day, rain or shineπππ @HHollert @ThoBaSwe @Utox_Eawag

Enjoyed the #SETACSeville session co-chaired by Terje Svingen, You Song and Claudia de Lima e Silva, focusing on "better alignment of AOPs and NAMs". I'm a fan of both π€ and yes, AOP is a "NAM" itself, but also a very useful framework to make sense of other NAMs @MauriceAtEcvam

Also a great poster spotlight talk given by @schuerc in Thursday's NAMs session #SETACSeville. He could also have taken longer than 5 min, as the two other spotlight presenters didn't show up (what, really?!), but his pitch was also perfectly timed - impeccable, as usual πππ
Last day of #SETACSeville already! If we haven't run into each other or you want to see me again, I'll be at my very crooked poster 64! Come say hi and talk predictive ecotox!

The most important talk of #SETACSeville week has finally aired π @SchirmerKristin presented our collective vision for using a "fish invitrome" to build an "alternative fish" for non-animal prediction of chemical effects on fish @MEFranco91 @schuerc @Utox_Eawag

Keynote by Maura Hiney highlighted the existing issues with research integrity and diverse flavors of scientific misconduct. Scary π¨ I must say, and the trend's apparently going up despite various remedies suggested. Are we not trying hard enough? #SETACSeville

What's your "favorite" omics method? The session I co-chaired with @DeninaSimmons today #SETACSeville ventured "beyond transcriptomics", diving deep into metabolomics' and (phospho)proteomics' insights into toxicity mechanisms and environmental effects of chemicals @Utox_Eawag

In #Plastchem we presented that there are several thousands of chemicals of concern in plastic. How do we prioritize action towards plastic causing the most exposure over their lifecycle. Mari LΓΈseth from @InfoNGI presents a Material Flow analysis to help prioritize solutions.

One more #PlastChem poster, featuring our awesome evidence map on toxicity of plastics leachates (lots of hard work in there!), is on display today #SETACSeville, poster area 1, 268. See also https://t.co/vra7Hjwnh1

This year's Science Slam was rather disappointing I must say. It seemed like the funniest thing was a technical difficulty with sound... #SETACSeville Nonetheless, congratulations to the winner!

Inspiring to be at @m_agerstrandβs keynote at #SETACSeville! When discussing examples of good chemical regulations, Marlene highlighted #PMT substance policy as supporting innovation and research to reduce exposure of hazardous substances!
