Tony Abbott: "We should never put reducing emissions ahead of national security and economic prosperity. Reducing emissions is nice to do, but the net zero straitjacket is doing all sorts of damage to our country. Let's be blunt—there is no climate crisis."

@KobieThatcher Unfortunately it’s true. It would take 20 to 30 years of Australia burning coal and gas to equal just one year of China’s usage. We cripple our productivity and make our citizens pay the highest energy prices in the developed world to pretend we are making a difference.

@KobieThatcher There is nothing more important to long term national security and economic prosperity than reducing emissions. Nothing. Tony Abbott is a clueless idiot that got kicked out of being PM as fast as possible once they realised how incompetent he is.

@KobieThatcher Idiot. How much further progress could we have made if this lying, cheating hypocrite hadn’t repealed carbon pricing?

@KobieThatcher Tony Abbott: "We shouldn't assume that mankind is responsible for climate change." Bro what? Scientists aren't "assuming" that mankind is dramatically accelerating climate change. They have done, and are doing, painstaking research to demonstrate that we are causing this shit.

@KobieThatcher I can never understand why, even though they don't believe in CC, they are so against renewable energy. We cannot continue to pump CO2 into the atmosphere at an exponential rate. The atmosphere is, by comparison, the skin of an apple and finely balanced, as we found out with CFCs

@KobieThatcher I wouldn't put too much in anything Abbott has to say. He's one of our shortest-serving PMs for a reason.

@KobieThatcher Tell that to your insurance company when you try and negotiate the astronomical price down. Thousands of people simply cannot afford to insure their houses anymore, because insurance companies work out your price based on the FACT that climate change is real.

@KobieThatcher Let’s be Blunt: * we understand mechanisms for greenhouse gases to absorb long wave electromagnetic radiation in the atmosphere * we measure the effects of heat on circulation currents in the sea & the skies * we can observe the impacts of bush fires, cyclones, droughts & floods

@KobieThatcher He really is a stupid man who doesn’t learn from his mistakes. A migrant who hates migrants. A man who treats women abominably. He had his moment in the sun & was singed. Don’t give him a moment’s notice!

@KobieThatcher The anti net zero crowd are politically irrelevant. Get with the program (we've literally had two federal elections proving this).

@KobieThatcher The planet is headed to 3C warming. Food crops are predicted to decline. I define that as a crisis. It worsens at a slow but steady pace. You have to act decades before the harms you are avoiding as it takes a long time to electrify the economy.
