@KingsGenerals It's a toss up between the Legionaries and the Mongols for me. But if I HAVE to pick a top 3 I'd go 1. Legionaries 2. Mongols 3. Swiss Guard

@KingsGenerals 1. Legionaries 2. Spartans 3. Mongols Samurais could be very disciplined in terms of inner discipline but not in collective discipline. Honorable mention to the Janissaries.

@KingsGenerals Legionaries and spartan hoplites They relied on their companions to hold the formation even under heavy attacks or cavalry charges Most of them would die if any part collapsed so nobody wanted to be the breaking point

@KingsGenerals It's gotta be the Swiss Guard, then I'd say Companions and then either Redcoats or Hoplites.

@KingsGenerals Kind of feel bad that the no one is mentioning the redcoats. The British army was (and still is) renowned for its discipline.

@KingsGenerals You could have chosen the Spanish companies for the Tercios, yet you chose a group of volunteers and adventurers.

@KingsGenerals Among 9 of them only one is still on active duty, protecting the leader of Catholic world, masters of pike formation, hailing from the nation of defense.
