The most obvious way to find new projects is to go at the "trending" tab on GitHub and checkout the hottest repos of the day. But as soon as you open one of them, your brain cells start cursing you as the project is too overwhelming even if it matches your stack 😰😷 2/

DO NOT PANIC remember that you don't have to start with them, the final boss must await, let's start with the small minions of the dungeon first. But how do you find these projects? Let's start using GitHub like a social network 🚀 3/

1️⃣ Follow your favourite topics 📝 GitHub topics are pretty cool. You get a list of all kinds of topics/stacks/hashtags which you can follow. Once you star a few topics, repos tagged with these topics start showing up on your "explore" tab. Also star the repos you find cool 4/

2️⃣ Follow active developers on gh 👾 This will not only make their projects visible to you but also the repos which they star. This way you will be able to hop on certain projects at early stages and begin work confession - I actively stalk @AashutoshRathi 's GitHub activity 5/

3️⃣ Outside GitHub Keep an eye on @ProductHunt , @IndieHackers , Reddit, Twitter etc where developers share their projects and experiences. Also keep reading where people share their projects tagged with topics This will also help you grow your network 6/

Feel free to add your suggestions and spread the word! 😁 All the best to all the #Hacktoberfest participants. Just remember to make meaningful PRs which actually *add value* to the project you're contributing to, T-shirt is just a by product of your hardwork ⭐️ Happy Hacking
