Lake Washington will open KingCo Crown league play on Monday, traveling to Eastlake to take on the Wolves as part of a JV/Varsity doubleheader. First pitch of JV set for 3:30’PM, with the Varsity game to follow at 6:15 PM.

Senior Gavin Johnson’s bases loaded double sparked a five-run second inning, and junior Kane Nishikawa allowed just one run in 4 innings of work, as Lake Washington downed Inglemoor, 9-1 on Saturday.

Senior right-hander Marcello Giusti came on to close and allowed a couple hits, but came up with a big strikeout to end the game and seal win #1 for Lake Washington. Quick turnaround for the Kangs, as they will take on Inglemoor Saturday as part of a V/JV/C team tripleheader!

Smithwick was efficient on this night, working 4 strong innings allowing just 3 first inning hits while striking out 3, picking up the win. Bainbridge would respond with 3 runs off ‘27 Oliver Stevens in the bottom of the 5th, but he would settle down and pitch a scoreless 6th.

Junior Will Cooley’s sacrifice fly and senior Shane Johnson’s RBI single widened the Kangs lead, and Kwon would single home another run in the top of the 5th, pushing the score to 6-0.
