70 applications. 5 responses. 3 of them automated rejections. Then she started DMing hiring managers directly and got 4 interviews out of just 11 messages. Recruiters are drowning in black-and-white resumes. A real person showing themselves in full color will stand out.

Nobody’s going to tell you this: The person who got the job probably wasn’t more qualified. They were more visible.

I’ve started two companies with the same people. The first one failed. One person we brought on (who looked incredible on paper) tried to take control of the whole company. Stacked the board, blocked a funding deal, and it all fell apart. After that, Yoeal went to Palantir.

Give me someone hungry with no experience over someone experienced with no energy. Skills I can teach. Vibes I can’t.

You don’t need a better resume. You need a better way to show what makes you, you.

This is what gets my attention as a founder. Not the resume. The GitHub. The X posts. The side project nobody asked you to build. I can’t tell if you can do the work from a PDF. But I can tell from your commit history. And notice what actually got him the offer. It wasn't the

His parents came from Eritrea. He went to MIT, worked at Palantir, and then left to build something of his own. I’ve started two companies with this guy. There’s a reason. Full episode on YouTube (/kjhardrict)

The problem with hiring isn’t referrals. It’s that only some people have someone to refer them. Talvy’s trying to be that trusted referral for everyone else.

83% of companies use AI to screen resumes. Only 0.4% of applications get seen by a human. And I think building a personal brand is one of the best ways to get around that. My YouTube channel led to every opportunity I’ve ever had. Never my resume. But I also know that took me

People thought I was joking when I said we’d feature Talvy users on a 22-story Times Square billboard. It’s called Talvy Spotlight. Our team personally watches every profile that comes in. If we see your video, hear your story, and think “I’d hire this person” — you earn a

At my past startups, some of our best hires were totally unqualified on paper. They always had the same qualities: entrepreneurial, high agency, smart, mission aligned, and they got stuff done. If you’re hiring, especially in early stages, seek out & bet on these people. Don’t

When I was 22, the doctors said I'd never be my old self again. Less than 1% chance. I worked on myself against all odds to keep my body from shutting itself down: > Gym > Diet > 17 pills daily Now I'm hitting PRs again. Not 100%, but getting better every day. Don’t let

Nobody tells you that startup life is just panic management with a smile The stuff you see online? That’s only 2% of it The other 98% is solving problems you didn’t know existed an hour ago I wouldn’t trade it for anything else tho

New grads are in the toughest position in the current hiring system The system rewards people who look good on paper, but so many new grads can't do that with no prev. experience coming straight out of college It's unfair, but now more than ever, new grads need to find ways to
