The rate at which the Chandler logo moves in comparison to the trail forearm in this clip says a lot

Trail arm mechanics in the swing are interesting. Humeral adduction, ER, forearm supination, and right side bend (RH Hitter) contribute to getting the barrel on plane. Some hitters use more of one move, many use a combination of all

Great point right here. Attempting to imitate the barrels reaction to a prior position isn’t wise. The barrel will pitch back naturally if it’s set up to do so. Manufacturing this motion via rotating the upper arms or forearms (independently) is miss leading

I love to see visuals like this. At no point in either arc is the knob and barrel moving forward at the same rate. I see a lot of drills currently that promote dragging the handle forward in an effort to maintain direction through middle. Not ideal
Statcast bat tracking -- Luis Arraez's swing on his opposite-field leadoff single vs. Fernando Tatis Jr.'s swing on his moonshot home run Arraez: Low bat speed, short swing Tatis: High bat speed, long swing

Real deal right here ⬇️
Macen Collura (‘26, LV) having a solid day at the plate with 2 base knocks including a loud triple down LF line. Strong athlete for size w/ good feel for barrel and juice to the pull side #EastMLK @PG_Uncommitted

Very talented Sophomore playing down in Fort Myers this weekend. Macen Collura, Faith Lutheran HS ‘26. Easy juice sitting 92+ EV tonight with a Baum bat. Have seen a lot of good HS kids over the years. This is one of the most impressive

The swingaway was a staple in the garage lab. Circa 2013. I built this one off season because I didn’t want to be bothered when working on movement
Although this one is actually brand new out of the box, here is today’s old school hitting equipment trivia… Anyone still hitting with one of these??

One of the smartest baseball minds I’ve ever been around and a main reason why I got my 1st professional coaching opportunity. Congratulations Donnie. Earned it 👊🏼
Boch was already a Hall Of Fame Manager before last night but man is it special to get him #4 and get Texas #1. Bringing the Trophy back to TX for our fans. @Rangers

Quick breakdown here. 2D video analysis can skew observation. Even when restricted to one view, keep in mind, you must account for all 3 planes of movement.

The hips flex before they rotate. Flexion prior to rotating is a trait most of the greats share. It’s a tough portion of the swing to describe but it’s critical in getting the bat to plane out naturally.

Excellent insight here. Orgs love to talk about swing decisions and plate discipline. The reality is, when you can move something fast in a short amount of time, that ALLOWS for better swing decisions. The best hitters have more time because they’re quicker
The ball is a little past halfway to the distance of the plate and Seager is just about to start the Transition-Go event on this HR. This is a good visual to show why swinging the bat FAST (Bat Speed) and QUICKLY (Rotational Acceleration) have been the separators at the game’s

The swing is comprised of bends, tilts, rotations and extensions. The torso isn’t accounted for nearly enough when observing swings. This is a cool visual that shows how swaying the rib cage can pull you into right or left bend.

These comparisons are so tired. These guys hit against literal grocery baggers that threw 84. To not admit hitting is the most difficult it’s ever been is literally wrong.
Nellie Fox struck out 216 times over 19 major league seasons from 1947 to 1965, a span of 10,351 plate appearances. Kyle Schwarber struck out 215 times this year.

After 5 seasons, my time with the Dbacks has come to a close. The experience I’ve gained in said time was invaluable. Had the pleasure of working with a lot of tremendous players and I’m taking away some lifelong memories. Truly looking forward to what comes next
