There’s a lot of people in Kansas City government and government-adjacent who are feeling pretty vindicated right now after they felt ignored for years. It’s hard not to give them acknowledgment now that they weren’t just making it up in their heads.

Eliminating newsroom positions is wild. News stations don’t bat an eye at a $50K bathroom remodel or random stuff, but can’t afford the meager salaries of news positions that are the backbone of the product. Terrible.
That’s a wrap, Kansas City. 🎤 My position at KSHB is being eliminated, which means my time as an investigative reporter will soon come to an end. While it’s surreal and sad, the strongest emotion I feel right now is gratitude.
