There are so many who take the dawn for the noon, a momentary experience for full realisation and destroy even the little they gain by excess of pride. Humility and silence are essential. ~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

It's not about transcending parts of ourselves we reject. It's about embracing all parts in the spaciousness of wakeful presence, the only true rest. Discover how to care for wounded parts instead of fighting them. The most important realization: learning to be truly kind.

If you don't recognize the dual aspect of monkey and caring awareness, you may act like an enlightened monkey, a distasteful performance. When the monkey suffers, acknowledge it with caring awareness, like a loving parent; here lies harmony. Stop the enlightened monkey nonsense.

If I don’t make an effort, how can I do it?.The truth is, we have to make an effort. And we continue with that effort until we realise the most difficult kind of effort: the effort of no effort. It means when I sit, I just sit,.fully accepting how I am. ~ Nyogen Roshi.

Being authentically yourself doesn't mean perfect spiritual performance. Trying to appear spiritually perfect only deceives oneself. Ego constantly performs its identity. Presence, not stories. We awaken through spontaneous recognition, not by trying to be spiritual.

All performances are ego, however virtuous or "enlightened". The spiritual ego can be the most insidious, convinced it's beyond ego due to its "higher" qualities. But performance is performance, regardless of how elevated the content. Natural presence, not spiritual performance.

Who are you when you're not performing(ego)?. Who are you at complete ease?. You haven't got to perform anymore. Natural presence.

Ego isn't open. Even when asking questions, it's merely performing its identity. While ego exists, it's all ego performance.

. never know the real moon. The teaching is like a raft that carries you to the other shore. The raft is needed, but the raft is not the other shore. An intelligent person would not carry the raft around on his head after making it across to the other shore. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh.

[Thich Nhat Hanh]. The teaching is merely a vehicle to describe the truth. Don’t mistake it for the truth itself. A finger pointing at the moon is not the moon. The finger is needed to know where to look for the moon, but if you mistake the finger for the moon itself, you will. .

Real solitude comes from a stable heart that does not get carried away by the pull of the crowd, nor by the sorrows about the past, worries about the future, or excitement or stress about the present. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh.
