This is how illiteracy manifests itself in online discourse. People use extreme words because they lack the vocabulary. They're struggling to precisely capture complex behavior. This lack of words also impacts their imagination. Because they don't know how to express the nuance
While it is an imperfect rule, I think that most people who are trying to describe somebody's mental state would be better off using older synonyms rather than their modern therapy equivalents. They are not narcissistic, they are selfish and thoughtless. 1/
