delighted to work with HSE Primary Care Nursing Teams from across the Island Communities in the North and West regions to deliver an Emergency First Responder course. Island Nurses work closely with the Ambulance Service in responding to emergency calls on the Islands.

Twenty years after the idea was first mooted in a Co Wicklow village, Ireland's network of community first responders is now made up of 4,000 volunteers in more than 300 groups nationwide.

John Joe McGowan and Finbarr Heenan from NAS recently participated in the annual cross border Humanitarian Disaster Assistance Course held at the Curragh, Co Kildare. The course is always a great opportunity to consolidate and build on the team's existing skills.

Yesterday saw the official launch of the Community Paramedic Service in Carlow. The launch was attended to by John McGuinness, TD for Carlow-Kilkenny, Dr Jonathan Jacob, local GP who has supported the service, Community Gardaรญ and a number of NAS staff.

Say hello to the new @autismdogsirl puppies - including little Nas! Each of the services was tasked with naming a puppy, who at 8 weeks old have just begun their training with families around Ireland. Event held at AADI HQ in Cork with Ger O'Dea, Cian O'Callaghan and Ian Ring.

Managers from NAS Operations Support and EPRR met with our counterparts from @NIAS999 and visited the @NIFRSOFFICIAL Learning & Development College in Cookstown this week. We plan to continue promoting cross-border interoperability in the planning and response to emergencies.

Stephen of @Community_NAS was in Killarney with members of the Kerry Deaf Group recently, for a workshop on improving access to Emergency Services. He demonstrated how to access the 112 emergency text service, as well CPR and using an AED while highlighting the visual markers.

We were delighted to attend the Emergency Service Open Day, hosted by Dun Laoghaire - Rathdown County Council. Attendees got to see the wide range of equipment we use and meet the crews. The siren also got tested, alot!
