@FauxMole
Not particularly. There's a holiday village not far from where I live of over 100 fully equipped houses occupied by Ukrainian refugees rent free.
@JohnMurphy51
Yes, and in an inspired move they’re going to slaughter the evictees and feed them to the refugees, thus providing cheap food and solving the homeless crisis all in one fell swoop
@JohnMurphy51
They do not get free housing, they get the same as Irish people's social welfare entitlements. Irish landlords get €800 pm tax free to house Ukranians.
33% of them are working, 29% are under 14.
@ScouseShels
In my locality the Local Authority has taken on leases on several houses (mostly holiday lettings) to accommodate refugees. I expect the people thus accommodated are no more responsible for paying rent than those accommodated in hotels etc.
@JohnMurphy51
The state is required to provide accommodation, if the state failed, refugees can not go to a local authority housing department to be housed. So no they don’t get free houses.
@JohnMurphy51
Does anyone know what the situation is regarding the Ukrainian cars on the road .ie Tax -Insurance-Nct ?
I see nothing in the car windows
@Pat99711627
I saw something in the media telling me a valid Ukrainian driving licence would entitle the holder to drive in the ROI. As for insurance, NCT, road tax etc, your guess is as good as mine.
@JohnMurphy51
Latestneviction in Donegal was of a Portugese man, Brazillian partner and their SIX KIDS.
This is NOT immigrant's fault. They are suffering too.
Landlords greed. Hill and Adair all over again.
