I always used to call my mother after a tv broadcast. Always. And especially if I had a new dress or a new haircut. I have a new dress tonight and it hits me with a bang again. Like it’s new news. I mentally reach for the phone, for her. And a little silent sob.

My 14 year old has a 16km round trip cycle to school which he does without complaining. Today a passing motorist threw water from a bottle out the window in to his face, or allowed their passenger to. I’m just going to leave that there with no further comment.

Remember- thunder is just the noise of the air rapidly heated by the lightning spark - think of it like a large popping balloon. Nothing to be afraid of. Night night.

My mother lost her mother when she was 22 & about to have her 1st baby. Unfathomable heartbreak followed, losing her beloved husband when she was 8.5mths pregnant with her 4th, she buried her 1st son on his 34th birthday. Her pains are over now. She will rest in peace.
To the
@goapplegreen
truck driver on the Malahide road at circa 2.30 that; yielded to me at the junction, moved over in the lane to let me pass, hung back as I went up the hill, gave a cheery toot in response to my delighted wave. That’s how a professional driver drives.
If you caught the forecast tonight on RTE1 and were wondering what I was talking about in relation to this coming spell of warming weather here’s a short explanation.

if you’re in the water today. Really really strong current. I struggled to get back to the beach after being taken out of my depth and I’m a regular open water swimmer. Lots of young kids out.

Chatting at the pool after my swim and a gentleman says to me you sound like lady off the weather I say I get that a lot they say I look like her too he says doubtfully “do they?” 😐

I’m not a big drinker at all - any of my friends on here that know me - actually know me - will attest to that. Last night I hadn’t had a sip of wine before I made a video. The content of the glass (half a glass) was all I had all night.
#gimmeabreak
I’m on-air in while. Crying all morning. I always made Mother’s Day about my mother and not me as a mother so my kids didn’t even remember it was Mother’s Day. I don’t want to see any tweets about how the

looked miserable today! Oh and Harm has covid.
Circumstances may have made my plans moot but not my outlook. Loving life. My family. My friends. Feeling like the luckiest lady alive. I wore this dress for my 30th and my 40th. Gotta pack it away now and see if I’ll make it to 60.
How many of you started all this with an energetic optimism to thoroughly clean your house from top to bottom only to realise that living at home all day with everyone means the house is more wrecked with each passing day than it was when we started? Just me then?
#lockdown
I stand outside my own house gazing at this plant. I love it so much. Very very hard work all year round but for these few days it pays me back in spades.

A lady driving a car, pulled up next to my son on the road, rolled down the window and told him he should be on the path. Just to be 100% clear. This is not acceptable behaviour from a motorist. Day2 cycling to secondary school solo. I’m a bit cross. (He’s super fine)

I’m trying to make Christmas puddings using my mother’s recipe, her mother’s recipe. I feel her absence in my kitchen the way I hear her voice in my head. Real. Tangible. Filling the space. I miss her with my whole body.
My daughter is stil in bed. Whatever luck was needed the time has passed. What will be will be, what is is. I’m proud of my child every day. Today will be no different. These numbers are a necessary evil and not a judgement of a person.
#LeavingCert2021
Started Irish classes today. Everyone seemed @ same level, all eager to learn, rusty, need practice. I suggested we’d all perform better if we were less shy about speaking & so we should move to evenings & have a glass of wine; was a well received idea 💡😊🍷

I had a terrible experience on the road today and I want to get it off my chest. We really need to do something urgently about the state of driving in our country. Our Children deserve better.

Feeling a lot better today. Thank you very much for all the well wishes yesterday. Still very very sore and stiff but already on the mend. Made this Christmas wreath with Holly from the garden with my daughter to cheer me up

This summer a woman beeped at a child I was cycling with. When I stopped and suggested this was unacceptable she put her hand around my throat, throttled me, then pulled her nails across my neck drawing blood. This is not appropriate behaviour on our roads.
8-year-olds shouldn't have to worry about motor traffic on their cycles to and from school.
The solution is straightforward: Create networks of safe, segregated cycle routes across our urban areas which enable people of all ages & abilities to cycle. That's it.
The time of year when you can lose 2 or 3 hours in the garden easily. And I don’t have a big garden! This beautiful beast, my pride and joy, will dominate my gardening time from a few weeks from now as the leaves take over. For now I can enjoy the blooms.

I’m going to take myself off to Deansgrange cemetery on my bicycle, bringing my deck of cards and a cup of tea (boiling water in a flask). Leaving my kids and my husband to cater to themselves while I look after me. That’s my

gift to me.
Love my new green coat from TweedinTheValley. I got it at Gifted in the RDS. A Lovely lovely talented lady working with quality Irish lambswool tweed. Some really great stalls this year. I spent wayyy too much. My mother would love my classic coat.

When Storm Betty nearly took her from me earlier this year I nearly lost my reason. This time of year especially it brings me an extra bit of twinkly joy. I’ve had a tough month and now I’m starting to feel a lot better already just from the sight of her all lit up.

My house is now cleaner than it has been in 14 years (to the day). Would someone mind taking in my husband and children for a couple of days to let me enjoy it? One day even? Half a day? Half an hour??

I am about to post the most ridiculous post you’ll ever read on this or any other social media platform. I do not control the weather. I do not make the weather. I do not interfere with the weather. There. I said it. Honest injun hand on bible cross my heart and hope you die. Xxx
I set myself a goal to learn to play Clair de Lune by my birthday. My brother says it’ll be good once I practice a bit. If it’s not too hard then it’s not a challenge hey? 16 months ago I didn’t know what middle C was. Thanks to

Out with my pride and joy this afternoon. So glad my daughter likes me again. I love her and am so proud, can you tell? I love how much she loves. Big stupid grin on my face.

Looks like her pudding. Smells like her pudding. She made them for her brothers and I made them for mine. Considering she never wrote down quantities (because she didn’t know them) it turned out pretty good for me.

My daughter trying to teach me the piano after a hard week at work. This might not have been our first take. Do you think I have potential!?

Harm poured us a glass of wine each. This is not a big close/small far away issue. He did this on purpose. It’s going in my album under “irreconcilable differences”
Person on a bike poorly judged right turn timing in front of my car this morning. I braked, waited, smiled & waved. Took about 2 seconds out of my day and didn’t incite ire. Maybe because I’m a cyclist too and I know we’re generally just trying to get about uninjured.

I’m not a dressy girl. So this will be my most bizarre tweet ever. Lots of people admired the dress I wore on the weather tonight. But you don’t get to see the best bit of it. It swishes!! I wish I could twirl for you.

In the car. Beeped at twice in 12 hrs.Last night by Dublin bus, this morning by giant white suv. My crime? 1st, going 50kph in a 50 kph zone. This morning letting a pedestrian cross a junction before I drove through it(which I’m legally obliged to do).

Actually. No it’s not a hard day. It’s a day I’m fully dedicating to enjoying my memories of my wonderful mother. She’d absolutely loooove my new cup.

Got to see my mother for the first time today and we got to chat. The urge to hug was almost irresistible but the pleasure in the walk and the real life chat can’t be measured. I wanted to kidnap her and take her home with me but sense prevailed.

Who butters their (fresh homemade) scone with the last of the Kerrygold and puts the top back on the butter dish without replacing the butter?? I either married a psychopath or I’m raising one. Send help.
Sometimes we forget that people are wonderful. I’ve had more hugs from strangers in 24 hours than in the previous 24 months. I needed them and they were wonderful. Thank you people. 💚🤍🧡
In 1984 I used my babysitting money to buy my mother a wooden rolling pin. Before then she’d always used an old bottle. I thought; my mother deserves to have her own rolling pin. She still has it, doesn’t make pretty pies, but she makes tasty ones.

What a photo well done Stephen 👏
