Also, aside from the evergreen stupid Vandy hinky votes, the fact that Ole Miss, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Auburn all received at least one vote to win the SEC . and Texas A&M received none was a choice.
That Longhorn hype train ain't slowing down anytime soon. Texas getting 2X the first place votes over Georgia and 3X over Alabama is interesting.

Then there's South Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Mizzou . all of whose fan bases would feel quite differently if their team finished No. 5 or No. 10.
For instance, if Florida finishes No. 5 in the SEC, the Gators are likely a fringe playoff team. Finish 10th, and Billy Napier could be fired. Same for Brent Venables at OU or Hugh Freeze at Auburn.

If Texas, UGA, Alabama and LSU are the top 4 teams in the SEC (in some order) . how would you rank 5-10?. @colecubelic and @JoshPateCFB had an interesting discussion, noting the difference between 5 vs 10 could be almost negligible but the perception of 5 vs 10 would be stark.

RT @JesseReSimonton: Have a feeling that after tomorrow, Texas A&M is going to become the sexy darkhorse team for 2025 . and I don't hate….

I do like that Ari included guys like Kalen DeBoer and James Franklin, though. Neither are in any danger of being fired, yet they face ample pressure this fall.
I would have Brian Kelly much close to No. 1 than No. 10 on this list. I also think Mike Gundy should be mentioned, and while it doesn't do anything for engagement/clicks, Trent Dilfer has been a disaster thus far at UAB and is facing a win-or-else year.

Why shouldn’t Hugh Freeze have offered him at Liberty? . It costs you nothing and is a potential relationship intro during the spawn of the transfer portal era. Obviously, it worked out for Auburn, and now we’ll see if Arnold is a perfect “fit” for Freeze’s offense.
Seen this twice now. Arnold committed to OU 1/22. Hugh arrived in Auburn end of 11/22. Unless you wanted the first thing Hugh did upon arriving, while trying to salvage a class, was offer a 5-star QB from Texas committed to OU for nearly a year, this isn’t an accurate take. And.

Fair but even if these figures are a bit phony we know enough that Texas Tech is definitely outspending the rest of the Big 12 for talent — both in the portal and for top high school recruits.
@JesseReSimonton That’s assuming we believe any of these numbers which I’ll never believe a single report without seeing it for my self.

I don't think Saban is returning to coaching unless it's the NFL but . He's been at his best with resource advantages and then knowing how to best utilize such advantages. He wouldn't be competing against the big boys of the SEC and could stack more Ws very quickly.
If Texas Tech is truly willing to spend more annually than basically the rest of the Big 12 combined . then if Joey McGuire doesn't get to the league title game this fall, the Red Raiders would be a GREAT spot for Nick Saban to return to CFB.

In 2018, Trey Smith saw his sophomore season at Tennessee end abruptly due to blood clots, and there was real concern his football career could be over. Flash forward, and now he's been rewarded for years of perseverance, hard work and excellent play. It's a great story.
Pro-Bowl guard Trey Smith and the Chiefs reached agreement just ahead of today’s franchise-tag deadline on a four-year, $94 million deal that includes $70 million guaranteed and makes him the highest-paid guard in NFL history, ESPN’s sources tell me and @ByNateTaylor. It’s the.

I've been higher on Brian Kelly than most over the last few years but there is definitely an argument that he's underwhelmed during his LSU tenure. He's a better "coach" than Ed O or Les Miles, but they won national titles because they got the talent and staffing parts right.
I have a hard time buying into the idea that Brian Kelly is holding LSU back. Guy has coached over 20 years and won over 70% of his games. They can win it all this year.
