If you want the waste out of bills, you have to fix Congress. If you want to fix Congress, you have to make the American people care about spending. Nobody ever loses an election for running up the debt and until that changes, Congress won’t change. The problem is us.

@JesseKellyDC Too many people think of the freebies as other people’s money. It is other people’s ones- your children and grandchildren.

@JesseKellyDC No, the problem is a broken political system that insulates the government from voters

@JesseKellyDC @KateAus1976 And yet, DeSantis wins by 20 points in my state while retiring - at the time - 1/3 of our accumulated debt. It’s not just the voters, although I blame them too. Dishonest politicians like Trump & Co perpetuate a lot of this.

@JesseKellyDC Who is "us?" Americans? The GOP? I've supported Ron Paul, Thomas Massie, Rand Paul, Justin Amash, etc. The GOP retards keep electing economically illiterate and morally bankrupt swine.

@JesseKellyDC It would go a long way if Donald Trump actually stood out and called them out instead of going after like people like Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, and Chip Roy who are trying to do the very things we've asked the President to do. Trump, by being willing to "work with" the Swamp in

@JesseKellyDC Almost like expanding the franchise to everyone capable of fogging up a mirror was a mistake as the founders thought it would be, given the tendency of the dysgenic lower class to vote themselves gibs over every other abstract consideration of national health

@JesseKellyDC 💯 The older generation is addicted to government handouts Our budget is consumed by SS, Medicare & Medicaid until those programs are reformed there is little we can do to curb spending. Each yr about $2.4T is transferred from younger ppl to boomers. The richest generation

@JesseKellyDC We need much smaller congressional districts. Increase representation by double or more.

@JesseKellyDC Congress needs a full reset. Current and former members need to be banned from ever holding an elected office again. Full census for only American citizens and re-district. Term limits, two terms only. End lifetime pay for all former, current and future members.

@JesseKellyDC We could fix Congress easily if we went back to the old ways of tar and Feathering politicians who do not do the will of their constituents.

@JesseKellyDC We are unfortunately riding a boomer wave of voting for what's only good for them throughout their lifetime because their cohort is so big. They voted for tax cuts in their prime years and now that they're retiring they want no SS tax, etc. Once they start dying off we can fix it

@JesseKellyDC Partly yes but there are also a bunch of people in Congress who run as Conservative but are not. The problem then is the voters don’t pay enough attention and just vote for the same person again.

@JesseKellyDC Remembering PJ O'Rourke's book about Congress, Parliament of Whores. The punchline of the book* is of course is that the whores are the ones being represented, not necessarily the representatives. * It is PJ O'Rourke so there will be a punchline.

@JesseKellyDC This and term limits with massive congressional restrictions on what you can earn/trade. Until you prevent them from also becoming generationally wealthy by holding office they wont change either. Both need to happen

@JesseKellyDC The federal government will never stop spending our money until the states step in and call for an intervention aka a convention to propose amendments! Time to pass the Convention of States resolutions and make real change! @COSProject

@JesseKellyDC He’s right. I went to a George F Will lecture back in the 80s, when he was a real conservative, and before neverTrump insanity. The astonishing fact is that the problem is the middle class, who get $1.25 in govt goodies for every $1 in taxes paid.

@JesseKellyDC I hear you. We need term limits and an age limit no one over 78. Earmarks only in separate bills. Enough of sausagemaking in the dark. Max 2% deficit to revenue.

@JesseKellyDC No it’s not. It’s lying politicians who say what ever they need to to get elected when they are only doing it to get Rich. The fastest get Rich scheme in history is to get elected to public office!

@JesseKellyDC The problem is the Republican Party. Two solutions: 1. Teach voters to vote for constitutionalists, including in primaries. If all else fails, it's best to live with a Democrat for a term if needed to get rid of a Republican Progressive. 2. Build a better party. Voting

@JesseKellyDC The people have a disastrously corrupt government because they allowed it to happen. For years good men did nothing. How did that work out?
