Shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Cush from The Men They Couldn't Hang.
R.I.P.
This should have been a huge hit. Still makes every hair on my body stand to attention after all this time.

It was getting regular radio 1 airplay and was pulled because of the “come here to see me hang lyric” they should have been bigger than the Pogues hugely talented fantastic live all great guys ( and girls) for us old enough to have seen them early absolutely gutted

I was working at Radio1 at the time and remember it well. It was actually the band's name clashing with the trial of the Sharpeville Six at the time. The men, having been tried twice previously, were due to face hanging a third time 1/2

Jake, 2020 was the first calendar year in a very long time that I’ve not seen you and the band play live I really hope to see you this year. Hope you and the boys are keeping well. Your incredible music is currently stopping me going back to my dark places!
@JakeBurnsSLF
Somehow managed to miss out on them until a mate put ghosts of cable street on the jukebox, the penny dropped pretty quickly after that. Sad times

Sorry to hear the news. Saw them at Strathclyde Union at around 87/88 around the same time I saw yourselves at Barrowlands - a life changing event.
