@JainabaFaye I'm from The Gambia. Where an "Alleged" rapist without proven guilty is kept behind bars for almost 2 years. Without clear evidence he should have been released within 48 hours of arrest, even granted bail afterwards. Because of no evidence on rape that's why DNA was requested.

@JainabaFaye "Alleged", meaning not proven guilty. Because they have no tangible evidence that rape took place they requested for a DNA since a child was born of the complainant, all of a sudden baby have died and DNA was obtained without the presence of the accuse's lawyer.

@JainabaFaye Imagine detaining a guy in prison for more than a year for an alleged crime without evidence, that's the time a DNA is requested. Technically this guy have already served his jail term depending on the duration of sentence on rape cases in The Gambia.
