Our great @WhittierECSTEM @JGWhittierPTO community may be taken from the neighborhood for 2 years of modernization. We need @mayorbowser to let us use stay in Manor Park #DontLeaseOurFuture #NoSwingSpaceToSharpe.

By Ignoring @WhittierECSTEM caregivers’ calls for a temporary school location in the neighborhood during our school modernization @mayorbowser & @dcpublicschools are putting the agency’s convenience over equity. We need a Manor Park option. #DontLeaseOurFuture.

Thanks to tireless efforts of teachers, admin, & caregivers, @WhittierECSTEM sees top enrollment, STEM accreditation, & high test scores. We need @mayorbowser to fund a neighborhood swing space for our modernization, so this progress is not undone. #DontLeaseOurFuture.

Well it’s another school year & our decades of HVAC issues persists. It’s going to be 97° today & our pre-K 4 classroom doesn’t have air. Why does the students & staff at @WhittierECSTEM continuously have to experience unsafe & unhealthy building conditions?

The @WhittierECSTEM community just learned the swing space planned for SY25-26 is still Sharpe School. Over 2 miles away & 30 min. ride by transit. This is going to disrupt the more than 80% of walkers that attend our school. We have offered solutions & no one is listening.
