Remember that literally the worst thing that can happen to a business owner or a landlord if they "lose everything" is that they have to get a job like everyone else.

Even if all your tenants stop paying rent, as a landlord you still own a real estate asset that you can sell for a lot of money, you're still way ahead of everyone else! And yet you cry about a rent strike? The entitlement...

The bourgeoisie loves to justify their "right" to exploit other people's labour by arguing that they're entitled to profits because of the "risk" they take on by investing. Yet when they lose their profits they act as if all of society must come to their rescue to restore it.

@JDespland This whole situation is making painfully clear the difference between folks who have to work to make money, and folks who own stuff that makes money.

@tha_rami Yes! Folks who have to work to make money, and folks who own stuff that lets them profit off the work of others. The primary, fundamental contradiction at the root of all capitalist society. Usually mystified by ideology but brought to light and made obvious in times of crisis.
