I apologize to ANYBODY who has had a terrible advisor. I had a great advisor in undergrad and grad school. And as an Academic Advisor myself, I strive to set my students up for success but what I cant do is make them want it.
Advisors really be the main reason why college students don’t graduate within four years.

It’s really a personal preference. I have a 4 year old and if a woman tells me she’s not interested because I have a kid then that’s cool and I appreciate the honesty. It’s not for everyone because it takes a lot of patience to be involved with someone who has a kid.
