Even 8th graders love the giant Omnikin ball on a rainy day. So many smiles and laughs. @CoachCavotes @OakPark97 #physed #omnikin #crabsoccer

Another brain break idea in Health - “flick” or “pop” noodle pieces and try to catch the other noodle. Take a break from sitting and learning about nutrients! So many smiles. @OakPark97 @CoachCavotes #brainbreak #noodles #handeyecoordination

Switch w/ 2nd - 5th grade by @OPENPhysEd. It’s a good “next level” for keep away. Great game to practice offense and defense and an element of scoring. #whs44 #PhysEd #offense #defense

Step 1 w/ K-1 learning “Bounce Brigade.” Same relay but use spider balls to roll instead of bouncing to the bucket. Their curriculum is also different (see comments). @pe2themax #whs44 #PhysEd #HealthEd #rolling #teamwork #nervoussystem #5senses

Modification of @pe2themax’s “The Great Escape.” GREAT throwing/rolling game. 3 levels: roll at pins, throw at whiffle balls on cones & throw to get a ball in each round net. Throw/roll from the purple line. #whs44 #PhysEd #throw #roll #targetgame

Move the Mat - another classic target throwing activity by @pe4everykid. Students do a nice job focusing to earn cubes at each end of the gym when they make it across. #whs44 #PhysEd #throwing #targetgame #teamwork #partners

Catch 5 Keep Away w/ 2nd - 5th. Highlight moment of the day - using a grab ball rather than a gatorskin ball. Throws & catches are SO much more successful. Catch 5 in a row, earn a point & the ball goes to the other team. Drop the ball - ball goes to other team. #whs44 #PhysEd
