Burkina Faso’s ruling junta on Monday unanimously passed a law criminalising homosexuality, with penalties of up to five years in prison. The measure, part of a broader reform of family and citizenship legislation, comes amid a deepening crackdown on LGBTQ+ rights across Africa.
