Artists, (especially artists that earn from their art)
has your life/ income changed since the introduction of ai „art“?
For me, this year was horrible and I’d like to see how it is for other artists and how you are feeling.
We gotta think of other factors too as the economic situation worldwide + the mess with social media.
I noticed it’s improving now for me at the same time as my Twitter is getting better too.
But I’m trying to do some research on follow artist if and how much they’re affected by…
@IndiiCreates
Honestly not much has changed on my side? I noticed a smaller flow of new clients but other than that… I still can make a living and I’m somehow booked for months to come.
@ViiMorteArt
Im so sorry VI I can’t believe he’s just used your work without permission like this.. wth I’m furious
(Happy you’re work is don’t affected!)
@IndiiCreates
My work has not yet been affected by the AI presence. I was very lucky to enter a market (the ttrpg market) that, at medium-high levels, still relies on human artists.
I managed to improve my skills just in time to reach those clients. The rest is just luck.
@il_Goblin
The ttrpg market is the best!
The clients also value Human made work a lot!
I’ve started focusing on it more now too which seems to be helpful.
Thanks for your answer.
@IndiiCreates
Not that I'm aware of. I've been booked all year and every contract explicitly states that there cannot be AI in the work. My clients have all been companies if that makes any difference. I really hope the next year will be much better for you! 🫂🤍
@YuxingArt
Thank you!
I always had work too but I used to be booked for months and I’ve had months that where dry which never happened before but it’s seems to be improving on my end now.
I’m glad it was a good year for you!🫂
@HolBolDoTweet
Hope it gets better now.
I still got by but it’s not nearly the same as the years before.
It’s improving for me atm and I hope it keeps getting better.
@IndiiCreates
To simply put, it's hell.
It didn't affect me as I stopped freelancing and got decent employers luckily, but just the idea of it alone is enough to ruin if not almost every bit of what I enjoy and love about art & even started to hate how certain people and communities view it.
@IndiiCreates
I had two years of nothing due to burnout, but I tried to get commissions during the second half of the year and it took months to get anything so yeah it has been impacted, A LOT!
@IndiiCreates
Mentally this year was tough. I had a significant drop in demand for private comms during the summer. But that was likely due to the mixture of inflation, social media trouble & A/I.
I still had clients & this year has been my best one so far when it comes to freelancing income
@IndiiCreates
For my own personal connecting with and creating for clients? Not really. For everything else? Hoooooh boy. Google images, every Pintrest search, Artstation, Etsy, Envato, etc. all absolutely flooded to the point of unuseability.
@IndiiCreates
I’m a book cover designer and my income has halved. A lot of authors are less likely to hire people cos they can make their own “art”. And my main gig as a lead graphic designer for a company has been sliced and given to someone who was favourable to using 🅰️👁️ cos I refused to.
