At the top is a list of those involved in the installation. Below are the details of one of the opening recitals given by one of this country's leading concert organists, Dame Gillian Weir (misspelt in the inscription!). She was also Mrs Phelps! (2/2) #heritage #conservation.

This photograph was recently sent to us by the company that has maintained our Phelps organ for many years. These inscriptions are on the top of the outer tower on the north side of the case where, in ordinary circumstances, no one would see them! (1/2)

The Rector & community at Hexham Abbey are devastated by the shocking death of one of our young people. We have made space available in the Abbey for anyone who wishes to light a candle and reflect on this terrible tragedy. We will hold all those affected in our prayers.

With profound sadness at news of the passing of HM The Queen, the Abbey remains open this evening until 9pm. Everyone of all faiths and none are welcome to light a candle and sit in quiet reflection. We reopen at 10am tomorrow and there will be a special service at 6.30pm.

Our defibrillator cabinet was in desperate need of replacing and having secured funding thanks to @HexhamTown, @RotaryTynedale, @HexhamRotary, and Tynedale Lions Club, we have the new cabinet in situ! .Our thanks also to Burncliffe Electrical Ltd. for fitting it free of charge.
