Unfortunately I can no longer reconcile the good I see from our people here with the platform X now gives to misinformation, offensive and misogynistic content. I will not delete this account so that my successor can choose what they want to do, but I will no longer be posting.

What a fantastic week. Celebrating all nurses at the Florence Nightingale service on Wednesday, then joining our ED and CC nurses on Friday at the culmination of their joint CPD event. Past, present and future, QARNNS are ready!

Thank you Mark for all you have done. From first meeting you as a student nurse to seeing you operate at the very boundaries of practice. It’s been a pleasure sharing your journey. Fair winds, don’t be a stranger.
My final RN birthday!! 26 years since walking through the gates at Raleigh. What an absolute blast it’s been, all the more because of the people I’ve shared it with. New adventures ahead, but tonight I’ll raise a glass. And yes, I know, I’ve not aged a day 😂

33 years ago today I walked through these gates as a Probationary Student Nurse; today I have the privilege of being Head of the Naval Nursing Service. I’ve worked with amazing people, but today the shout out goes to the only other member of DNC4 left standing, Cdr Andy Clarkson.

Honoured to have attended the graduation ceremony for our newest nurses and ODPs. Amazing to hear about their academic journey and sense the excitement about their career to come. Sharing it with families made the day even more special. What a start to 2024!

Looking after our own and our people’s mental health is vital. Fantastic to see QARNNS informing and inspiring; we must all be responsible for ensuring we support each other and promote well being.
The mental health of our sailors is paramount. Our people are every bit as important as our systems, aircraft & engines. We must ensure they are operating at peak performance. Today our nurse held a Mental Health Fayre to educate and discuss with all. #WorldMentalHealthDay

Fantastic to spend the morning with graduating nurses of the Transition to Military Practice course. Enthusiastic, skilled and ready to face the challenges of caring for patients in an unstable world.

Congratulations Mark, preparing for the challenge of providing medical support in the complex operational environment needs novel solutions. These partnerships are essential to support capability development and it is great to see them recognised. Good luck.
