‼️Just shared at #IDWeek2025, our findings are now published in @OFIDJournal comparing cephalexin to cefdinir for uUTI in females. Spoiler: cefdinir was the only independent risk factor associated with/failure. Poor urinary PK = ⬆️failure. Let’s stop Rx’ing cefdinir for UTI! 🛑💊

🧠 When your work shapes discussion at #IDWeek2025:   HMS work by Gupta A et al. (BMJ Qual Saf 2023; JAMA IM 2024) was cited in a talk on pneumonia diagnostic uncertainty & empiric antibiotic use. Impact isn’t always on stage—sometimes it shapes how clinicians think.

📢 Wrapping up today's #IDWeek2025 highlights: For hospitalized patients with uncomplicated UTI, HMS data shows shorter antibiotic durations are just as safe. ✅ No difference in outcomes ⚠️ Longer courses = ↑ risk of adverse drug events Less is more. #ABXStewardship

📊 Check out this HMS member poster presentation from Henry Ford Health at #IDWeek2025! EMR tools (ABX counter and stop date carryover) improved CAP antibiotic duration— <6-day regimens rose from 54%→74%, with no adverse impact on patient outcomes. Smarter tools = safer care.
