This #WorldEnvironmentDay, think about any buildings local to you that would be perfect for adaptive reuse, and of course let us know about them if you want to! And remember, even small changes in your day to day can make an impact to our cherished environment. 💚

With thousands of empty buildings across Scotland, and millions more beyond, #adaptivereuse is the most sustainable way forward. Restoring buildings using #sustainable, local materials, and getting them back into use for #community spaces and #housing, it's a win win, no? ♻

Did you know that over half of Scotland's waste is attributed to #construction and #demolition? The greenest building is the one that is already built. So why do we continue to demolish existing buildings and rebuild in their place? 🏚

Another team favourite, and much-loved by our followers and beyond. Heartbreaking to see the approval for #demolition of such a historic building. There is so much to say, yet no words to describe it - something HAS to change, NOW! #circulareconomy #buildingregeneration
I'm appalled that the Planning Committee has agreed to approve the demolition of this historic warehouse on Oswald Street. The last vestige of this street's history at the heart of the Port of Glasgow is now to be wiped out for a speculative hotel development. Shocking decision.

A beautiful example of adaptive reuse in Edinburgh! We love to see amazing buildings like these, with so much history, be restored for many people to make more memories in for years to come 💚
In 2018, soon after joining @EdinburghUni, I was given my first tour of the Old Royal Infirmary, which was beginning to be converted into @UoE_EFI. We were told we COULD NOT take any pictures. But since when have I listened to any rules? Today I revisited where I stood then...

A beautiful building that we recently visited and posted on our Instagram. It, rightfully so, got a lot of engagement and anger at its despair. Especially being unlisted, what is this building's fate? We hope it's not demolition!
Yet another old Glasgow building which looks like it could soon be lost. On the corner of Wallace Street and Centre Street in Tradeston, it was damaged by fire earlier today. Cont./ #glasgow #architecture #glasgowbuildings #fire #buildingphotography #glasgowheritage

Now, of course here in Scotland we have thousands more empty buildings which all deserve to be put back into use, and if you want to read more about these buildings (and plenty others), be sure to check our recent posts on our Instagram and/or Facebook @GrandBequest 📲 4/5

Being a company focussed on helping get empty buildings back into use, we have gathered a few buildings here in Scotland which we feel should be highlighted! Each building is currently unused, and have been internally identified as having a high cultural significance💚 2/5
