Tied for 2nd place in the "CoachChamps" event, where each coach worked with 4 students of different ratings for a month before a final competition. It was nice to return to my roots of being a private coach before everything changed in 2020. Super proud of my team.

Today the USA vs India event announced it will partner with Tag Heuer. Watch companies have sponsored events in the past, but this is a major breakthrough given the international brand awareness. Hoping for more of this in the future.

Today FIDE made a rule change. Effective October 1 players past a certain elo cannot earn rating by defeating players much weaker than them. The rule is sort of "Anti-Hikaru", but not quite, as he's trying to play the 40 games required for Candidates more than he cares about

After 10 rounds, these 5 players lead the Grand Swiss. Giri and Firouzja have played the Candidates before. Tomorrow is the most important chess game that Blübaum, Keymer, and Niemann have ever played. Hans Niemann in the Candidates would be a movie.
