You don't get a degree to identify yourself as an ideological enemy before enforcing your beliefs. You just enforce your beliefs. All that requires is the will to do it.

Conservatives, whatever that means anymore, are presently a certain breed of the nominal-Right who don't want to be seen engaged in anything unseemly when it comes to politics or governance. Whether that be intellectually or physically.
