Solidarity with members of @IAPE1096 (many of them work with our members to make The Journal podcast). Their unit is enduring endless rounds of layoffs and working without a contract, because mgmt continues to drag their feet at the bargaining table. Fair contract now!.
Today @dowjones laid off more employees at @wsj — on top of the 45 IAPE members laid off this year — despite its record profits. We’ve had enough. IAPE members are walking out during their lunch hour to protest these cuts and make it clear to management that we’re worth more.

Along with @RingerUnion we secured groundbreaking AI protections including: podcasts translated into other languages using AI will receive disclaimers upon request. Employees can decline bylines on content with substantial AI contributions.

In a media industry beset by layoffs, we increased severance packages for our members. The longest serving now get 26 weeks! We also guaranteed greater security for members who are on visas in the event they are laid off.
