It’s believed the right amount of sleep for adults is between 7-9 hours per night but in reality that’s an average. The right amount of sleep for YOU should allow you to function the following day without feeling tired.

Many elite athletes have clean bed clothes every night. That feeling of ‘aaaah’ when you get in bed with nice clean sheets sets you up for a great night sleep

Nice to have a bit of respite form hot nights. We need a cool bedroom at night to encourage the production of melatonin which is a key part of the sleeping process

Couple of things you can do to aid sleeping in hot weather; keep window open (if poss), use a fan with a bowl of iced water in front of it, keep hands and feet out from under covers, sleep on side to maximise heat loss #Heat #ukheat #GetSleeping

Seeing lots of posts about putting pillow cases in freezer in hot weather, it’s really not the best idea as you will just end up with a damp sheet!

Whatever day of the week, I try to keep a regular bedtime schedule, in bed by midnight and up at 7am. Regular bed times keeps circadian rhythm anchored and is important for a night of quality sleep #GetSleeping
