A lot of people end up with nightmare collab stories about collabing with someone they only chatted a bit with on twitter and stuff like that always makes me freeze, I just can’t hang out with people I’m not cool with on a personal level

To add another layer to this, I'm autistic and this also changes how I interact with others. If they know, I don't end up masking around them, but if they don't I end up a lot more closed off out of fear of rejection/bullying.

@RosenDamonVT Agreed. I have collabed with friends of friends and they treated me like shit and blew me off constantly and were annoyed I was even there

@Varnas_Raven Yeah that would make me never speak to them again, that’s so frustrating and feels like a huge waste of time

@RosenDamonVT I made that mistake in the beginning of my streaming career and it was one of the most awkward experiences I’ve ever had. Learned the hard way to only collab with people I know closely and personally.

@Dakoda_VT I know a lot of people would go 'well you won't get anywhere if you don't collab with people outside of your circle' and I'm just...I don't really care? I'd rather take my personal comfort over 'getting anywhere' any day. I'm so sorry you had that experience jfc

@RosenDaemonVT Everyone is so eager to collab that they forget to consider if they mesh well with each other! It’s so important to hangout and understand each others vibes in a vc or something. You can really only get a feel for someone so much through dms and non-verbal interactions. 😭

@kwistinas Yeah exactly!!! Like sometimes I’ll be cool with someone on twitter but I might not have good chemistry with them in a VC and that’s totally normal. I wish that just normal VCs with each other were more normalized

@RosenDamonVT In my case only a handful of people have had the courage to talk to me Trying to force it just crimps edges that needed to be fluffed Especially when the things that are enjoyed aren’t mutual Different love languages

@RosenDaemonVT I feel your struggle!! i also have my own ways of communicating. i try to go outside my comfort zone when i can, but I've had an easier time streaming when someone i know is present 😊
