It is nothing to celebrate when you take 43% of all 5v5 shots against a team that has only taken 46% of 5v5 shots this season.
Yaroslav Askarov bounces back after a tough game against Colorado, to steal yet another against Vancouver. #TheFutureIsTeal

This guy was ranked like a top-15 U23 or whatever player before the season started

They should bring LaCombe instead of Faber and just play two lefties on the third pair.
Inching closer to Milan, and @JoeYerdon brings us a new USA Hockeu Olympic lineup projection 🇺🇸 https://t.co/cW8mcibczZ

This would be the funniest possible trade for EDM. Binnington has been perhaps the worst starting goalie in the league this year, and Skinner's been fine. Meanwhile the team is earning like 45% of shots at 5v5.
Nick Kypreos: The strongest speculation ties Jordan Binnington to Edmonton; the Oilers are also seeing if they can get a defenceman out of St. Louis at the same time. That potential deal would most likely be built around Stuart Skinner going back to St. Louis - Sportsnet (11/25)

I don't know how I didn't realize this, but Jason Robertson didn't make the 4 Nations roster?!! What was this staff doing, and what does it continue to do?
Robertson, Caufield, Cooley and others keep pushing. That’s what Bill Guerin wanted to see, players making it hard on him. That and more from the Team USA GM in my latest for @TheAthletic ⤵️

Be weary of people who throw around meta-analyses and RCTs, citing them as "gold standard." Many of the studies are deeply flawed, and meta-analyses often throw together RCTs that are poorly controlled and/or virtually incomparable to one another, if you actually scrutinize them
A review of 30 randomized controlled trials published in 2017 found no connection between a diet high in PUFAs and inflammatory markers. In case you don't know, a randomized controlled trial (RCT) is the gold standard of research. https://t.co/GWJ54ifSYU

This comparison is so silly. Schaefer is doing things Hutson only ever dreamed of and he's doing at age 18 what Hutson wasn't doing at age 20.

Another weird one. Kurashev is either an 82nd percentile offensive player so far this season or someone whose 5v5 offense is his biggest weakness so far. @EvolvingWild @EvolvingHockey any insight about why some of these players are showing opposites in diff. models?

The Leafs traded first-round picks for Brandon Carlo and Scott Laughton. Surely, they'd be willing to hand over a couple mid-round selections for Kurashev's 14% on-ice shooting percentage.
David Pagnotta: This is a scenario now where the Leafs wanna add, but...nobody's throwing them any lifelines; Treliving's out there looking for a mobile puck mover; for a playmaker they can add to their top 6 - Winnipeg Sports Talk (11/20)

At their current paces, it's a two-horse race between this guy and Askarov.

That said, the eye test process becomes tiresome and/or confusing when poor results pile up even if a coach sees good process (and vice versa). And it often seems like process despite results is afforded to vets more often than younger players.
