When England first translated the Bible to English, they assumed this word meant ‘carpenter’ because builders and craftsmen in England used wood.

This makes more sense, given that Sepphoris was being built near Nazareth. By the time of Jesus, the surrounding area, that used to be covered in forest, was largely treeless. Roman cities were build largely with stone, so a carpenter doesn't really fit.

It would make sense, but it doesn’t really matter that much. I don’t think. But there’s a lot of references about stones in the Scriptures. Like the believers are living stones. Like you said he’s the cornerstone. And he’s going to give us a white stone with our new name on it.…
