As part of a unit on "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe, Discovery Middle School eighth graders held mock trials for the story's narrator with Superintendent Dr. Cory Steiner and General Counsel Tara Brandner serving as judges.

Area K-12 students came together to host the 19th annual Fill the Dome, collecting 100,369 pounds of food and raising nearly $45,000 in monetary donations. The 2025 event, featured month-long activities of raising food and funds culminating in a two day event at the Fargodome.

Mrs. Knudsen’s first grade class at Centennial Elementary School celebrated reaching the end of their human body unit by having a “Doctor Day." Students enjoyed five rotations of games, building skeleton bodies and matching food groups.

Horace Mann Elementary School is inviting the community to come take a walk down memory lane TOMORROW inside the historic building before it is demolished following the completion of this school year. The building will be open for tours Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Manson's second grade class at Jefferson Elementary School combined a STEAM activity with their unit on Greek Mythology. They planned, designed, and tested new wings to help Icarus fly again after his wings were ruined after flying too close to the Sun

Explorer Academy students celebrated Adeline Walker as she was named Explorer Academy's Staff Member of the Month. Her nominations said she consistently steps up as a classroom leader by communicating effectively and maintaining high expectations.

South High School students voted in the school library on their favorite candy in the Sugar Showdown bracket to name the ultimate candy champion from October 28 to November 14. The students chose Reese's Peanut Butter Cup as the winning candy.
