100% agree. Especially around delays - it’s better to say ‘I need more time for xyz’ than to miss a deadline on the day it’s due.
it is better to give small design updates frequently than waiting for days in silence to give one big update to your clients. (in most cases) - keep the momentum be visible don’t let your client wonder what is going on

hard disagree, the best creative work happens because of constraints, not despite them. "think outside the box" gets it backwards, the box IS the creative tool. when you really understand your constraints, you stop wasting energy on infinite potential possibilities and channel
Hot take: The more technical a designer becomes, the harder it is to craft truly great experiences; because at some point, the adventurous spirit gives way to the awareness of constraints.

one thing i regret not learning sooner: as a soon as you have an idea you should start creating. i used to wait till i wrangled with the concept more but only ended up losing it to time. there’s no right time for your ideas. start creating or they’ll stay ideas for eternity

I joined @contra, and so far I love it. There’s a heavy focus on visual design/web and motion, but it honestly feels refreshing. To me, it feels like what Design Twitter used to be - collaborative, inspiring and conversational. I got Pro and will try for 30 days.
