CEP was a varying amount of money paid to the survivors depending on their eligibility. Each survivor who resided at the school got $10,000 for part or all of the first year, and $3,000 for each part or full year after. This was one of six components.

What steps have the government taken to rectify their mistakes in supporting and funding these schools? On March 8, 2008 the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement was issued. One componet of the settlement is that it gave survivors Common Experience Payment (CEP).

The answer is "All of the Above". According to the Union of Ontario Indians, who based their information on research provided by Karen Restoule, those who attending residential schools had religion forced upon them, were forced to do labour, and experienced sexual assault.
