Also interesting is what these 2x companies tell us about the state of content today and the modern consumer. Are they saying: "content is not connection"?. Or: "newsfeeds are stressful and exhausting.". Maybe: "let's we separate *networking* from the self-promotion?".

I recommend trying both @Boardy_ai and if you have not. Both have very smooth onboarding processes. Boardy is voice only; takes about 15 minutes. Series is click-based, but can be set up in less than one minute.

Very early innings here, but three questions I have are:. (1) If AI-based social networking is not confined to the "walled garden" of the app, does the next gen of startups still capture as much value per customer as Meta and LinkedIn do today?.(2) Will out-of-the-app notifs.

Social networking is one of the best use cases for consumer AI rn bc the demand for networking is eternal, very high friction right now (largely due to spam and sheer volume) and stale interfaces across the internet (FB and LinkedIn got polluted/taken over by boomers).

@Boardy_ai Both keep in touch with you semi-proactively via messaging apps and/or email. Transcending the application layer *and* replacing in-app notifications to capture your attention more efficiently. They also don't require any storage space on your mobile. Talk about low-friction.

Don't bother your friends for warm intros, bother your AI friend instead. It knows more people.

Peter has been thinking a lot recently about the modern conception of the antichrist. Some of your joined one of the "Plague Theology" sessions he and I hosted on the topic during COVID. Some of you listened to his interview with Ross Douthat a couple of months ago (yes,

Correct. Tiktok, X, Instagram, Pixar, Netflix - are these tech or media companies? Does the answer matter?.

Every innovation in distribution sparks panic that it will kill media. But tech isn't killing media. It's joining media. For 20 years, tech said that distribution wins and users make the content. But the same distribution that tech built became too powerful to ignore. Content

one of the most contrarian acts of today is literally just reading a book. any book. just the act of reading something long form will force your mind to sit still. time will slow down, the insta dopamine withdrawals will be painful, but the benefit is that you’ll be able to.

The most important decision you make if you choose to build a startup is who you select as co-founder. Most important decision if you choose to build a family is who you select as partner. Most important decision if you choose to build a community is who you select as friends.

In short - the new economy is going to demand/reward three core traits from everyone:. 1. Speed - rapid processing / response time.2. Social - authentic real-time interaction.3. Transparency - showing your work will matter more than showing your answer.

5. Some of the most valuable players in this new economy will be those who can:. - Process complex info quickly.- Make novel connections in real-time.- Explain their thinking as it happens.- Adapt rapidly to new information.

4. Content platforms showcasing real-time thinking (live streams, unedited podcasts, AMAs) will outperform static content. When AI can write entire blog posts, authentic human processing becomes premium.

3. Product development will become more transparent. If AI can help anyone ship polished features, the edge moves to rapid iteration and public problem-solving. Think - public roadmaps, live betas, real-time user feedback loops.

2. VCs will increasingly prioritize investing in founders who can think on their feet over those with polished narratives. When AI can generate perfect pitch decks, the best signal becomes watching how a founder processes challenges in real-time.

As AI commoditizes polished outputs - perfect prose, beautiful designs, structured code - the competitive edge shifts dramatically. What becomes valuable isn't the final product, but how quickly and clearly you can think to get there.
